The holiday season begins…

I always find the holiday season the most difficult time of the year to get things done.  On top of the regular grind of day to day life, there is the added stress of finding the perfect gifts, making the perfect meals, and hosting the perfect parties.  The stress of it always makes me want to move to some remote island until January.  This season, I’m attempting to change and get back into the holiday spirit of things.  So, as I wind down on the sessions and get photos processed for Christmas cards and gifts, blogging may be a little light.  I’ll get back into the swing of things as soon as life settles down a bit.

In the meantime, here’s a little something that I think back on when I need to take a chill pill…

Photobooth // Ciara + Del

IMG_1616

I’ve already talked about Ci & Del’s wedding here and here, but I have one more post to share.  When Ciara and I were talking about what she envisioned for her wedding, she brought up the idea of a photobooth.  It was something we both had seen, but I had never attempted.  Lucky for me, she talked me into trying it and it was a hit!!  Ciara brought props including pink feather fans and homemade moustaches-on-sticks and all the guests really had a good time with it.  Although it was initially scheduled to run an hour, after 45 minutes in, my lightbulb popped!  Next time, I’ll be sure to bring backup bulbs…

I’m going to start offering the photobooth on a regular basis… it’s a great way to get photos of your guests at your reception, without getting trampled on the dance floor. :)

Personal // At Water’s Edge

The past couple of days I’ve woken to fog and cooler temperatures…  the beach’s version of fall weather, I suppose.  The change has also created a tumultuous sea… one that rips up massive seaweed beds and strews them along the shoreline.  The tourists haven’t been scared away… they seem drawn to the water’s edge just the same.  The angry waves beckon to the surfers as well.  I love the sight of the bobbing heads and boards waiting for that perfect watery curl.

What dedication…

Gearing up for another wedding… this one is super-duper special as it is for one of my BFFs.  Instead of being in the bridal party, I opted to be the photog, which entitles me to skip the dress, but dye my hair to match her wedding colors.

While I am whooping it up in LA (with the awesome Sandra Pan!) and my BFF, here’s to wishing you all a happy weekend filled with awesome fall sunsets. :)
