Wedding in the Vineyard – Jennifer & Scott

A couple weeks ago, I shot a gorgeous wedding at Ponte with my friend Michele for Honey Stetson-Photographer.Â The weather was perfect and the grounds were beautiful.Â But the best part was Jennifer and Scott.Â They were so laid-back – after being together for 10 years, nothing could faze them on this long-awaited day.Â And though the day would have been perfection right there, the icing on the cake was Scott’s restored classic car – painted a gorgeous red especially for the day.Â Of course we had to get a few (alright, a lot!) photos of that…

John + Lisa… Married! (Part I)

I was so looking forward to John & Lisa’s wedding in March of this year.Â I was fresh off a 2-year stint of assisting another wedding photographer and they were one of the first couples to book with me when I headed off on my own.Â Their engagement session was a blast…Â John & Lisa are die-hard sports fans (San Diego teams, natch) and we met up at Petco Park in downtown San Diego.Â Their connection was so fantastic that I knew the wedding would be an event to remember.

On a cloudy March morning, Dylan (the best 2nd shooter a girl could ask for) and I met the happy couple at the beautiful Pala Mesa Resort.Â I introduced Dylan to John and the guys and snapped a few detail shots before heading over to meet Lisa and the rest of the bridal party.Â Wedding preparations were in full-swing amidst the kind of joyous chaos that precedes a long-awaited event.

And then on to the bridal suite…

After Lisa was dressed, I shooed everyone out of the room to get a few moments with her alone.

Then it was time to get married!!

Lisa’s brother had the honor of walking her down the aisle…

After the ceremony, the wedding party toasted with champagne while guests were ushered to the reception area and family gathered for pictures.

Pala Mesa Resort has some pretty amazing backdrops for beautiful photographs.Â After the family photos were done, a golf cart and driver were provided to us to show us around.Â They pointed out picturesque spots, stopped wherever we wanted them to, and got us to our destinations quickly.Â It was awesome!

Morty + Kim: Married! (Part I)

I’ve been a bit lax on blogging in this here New Year.Â I’ve been busy with some changes (isn’t everyone?) so I haven’t been shooting as much.Â However, there were several weddings and mini-shoots from the end of last year that didn’t get any blog love, so I thought that showing you now would be a good compromise.Â Okay, here we go!

Remember Morty & Kim?Â They had an awesome engagement session at the beach last fall and I was really looking forward to their wedding in October.Â When I got to Ponte Winery and saw her getting ready and then saw The Shoes – well, I knew I was in for a fabulous day!Â I second shot for Honey Stetson and between getting to hang out with her (she lives in Canada!) and Morty & Kim again, I had such a fun time.Â I can’t wait to hear how the honeymoon went!

I went a little bit crazy when photographing The Shoes.Â Let me tell you it was difficult picking just two of my favorites…

The details were stunning….

… as was Kim!Â She is seriously gorgeous!

Wedding Time!

Although Kim & Morty opted for a first look before the wedding to give more time over for photographs, we ended up shooting family photos before and after the ceremony.Â I’ve grouped them all together anyway, just because I can.Â
