Way back in June, the tables were turned when I second shot for the fabulous Dylan Mayer at the Summit House in Fullerton, CA for Jen + Eric’s wedding. It was a beautiful backdrop for a super fun couple and their families. I spent most of my time with the girls, while Dylan hung out with the guys, so I apologize in advance for a post that is light on the testosterone.

The bridal party got ready at the bride’s beautiful family home…

Then we were off to the Summit House! Jen + Eric decided to see each other before the ceremony and take the majority of the photos at that time as well, so they could relax and enjoy cocktail hour with their guests afterward. It was a bit overcast for parts of the day, so we were able to shoot practically anywhere we wanted.

Some finishing touches before heading over to the ceremony…

As with all of the other beautiful details, the reception was beautifully decorated…

You may remember Brittany and Sydney from a while back… a beautiful mother & daughter of whom I managed to get a few frames in a mini-session. Her husband, Jason, loved the images, but was super bummed not to be in any of them with his two favorite girls. So they scheduled a session with me to get some photographs with their WHOLE family for their home.

Brittany and Jason brought a friend to watch Sydney so we could get a few of just the two of them…

Thank you, Volden Family… your happiness is contagious. I can’t imagine a more perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon.

The Cerrillo Family

I met Melissa a couple of years ago when I started a new job. It’s rough being the low person on the totem pole and not knowing anyone in the office. The first few weeks tend to be a blur of faces and learning processes and any kindness is appreciated. Melissa was one of my saving graces as the new kid. She showed me the ropes and never made me feel like I was just another part of the job. In time, we became good friends and besides our periodic chats during the workday, I looked forward to hanging out with her after work as well.

So, when I headed to Felicita Park to photograph Melissa’s family, I felt like I was meeting up with old friends. We had fun with Melissa’s kids hiking through the park, climbing rocks and fighting off bugs (sorry guys!). And I fell in love with the beautiful summer light and the forest of trees we spent most of our time in. All in all it was a wonderful afternoon.

Thank you for introducing me to Felicita Park, Melissa! I had a blast with you and your kids.
