This space has been so quiet lately…. not because I don’t want to share, but because things have changed so, so much, I’m not even sure where to begin.  I moved to Portland a year ago… this weekend was my 1 year anniversary.  It’s been incredibly hard to leave San Diego behind and I miss my family and friends terribly.  Besides being lonely, I’ve also been broke, bored, restless, sad, conflicted, introspective, giddy, content, happy, independent, and adventurous.  The spectrum of experiences in the past year has been vast and it’s made me a stronger, better person for having gone through it.  It’s also shifted my priorities to a degree I never could have imagined, even just one short year ago.  While I may or may not elaborate on all of those experiences in this space, I do want to make my stories and photos here more personal… less about work and marketability and more about life and living it.

And in that light, here is a small snippet from this afternoon.  A bit of peace found in a small Sunday moment.  xoxoxo

I’m moving!  I’ll miss living in the country and being on a first-name-basis with the chicken-folk at the feed store, but I am excited about living closer to the city and having a guestroom so y’all can come crash at my place!  I’m also excited about having a new space to decorate.  Right now, I am in love with blue and indigo.  This palette is providing me with inspiration and I consider this wall near perfection.  Now, which wall to paint first?

If someone asked me my favorite color, I would show this photo.  Or this palette.  Man-oh-man, these colors make me happy.  I guess even moving 1100 miles away, you can’t take the San Diego out of the girl.  What’s your favorite color?

I have a special place in my heart for Wes Anderson movies… I love the quirky charm.  Which means I was super excited to see this trailer!  Who’s with me?

If you know me, then you know I love words.  I spent some time this week going through a notebook where I’ve been saving all kinds of quotes and poems.  I’d love to make something like this as a way to display some of them in my home.

Though print magazines will always be my first love, this online zine is definitely worth taking a look through.  Especially since the featured house tour is so swoon-worthy.
