San Diego Film Photographer // The Bounty of the Farmer’s Market

After reading this book, I became totally enamored of the “urban gardening” movement.  I had always thought I would have to have a farm, complete with cows and horses and acres of property, in order to really reap the rewards of the land… and in San Diego, that just isn’t really feasible for most of us.  Then I found out that you can grow a garden on the side of your house, raise bees on rooftops in NYC, and keep chickens in your postage stamp-sized backyard.  For the past few months, I have been devouring every article and book on raising veggies and chickens and bees in the city with high hopes for next year’s bounty.  In the meantime, I visit the So Cal farmer’s markets and try not to get too jealous over the farmers’ stands of mouthwatering fresh produce…

annalisa - i think my little sister stole one of those watermelons for her session with you. lol.

Grandma Bethine - We’ve been having fresh corn on the cob EVERY night lately. One of Hershey’s sunflowers is about 9 feet tall and as big as an umbrella. The birds are really going to have fun one of these days. Tomatoes are soooooo good, too. Wish you were here!!!
