Hello. How do you do?

I'm a San Diego fine art photographer, recently transplanted to the Pacific Northwest. Currently residing in Portland, OR. I love my dog, look forward to raising chickens, and shoot film. No matter where I end up, West Coast culture runs through my veins. These are my stories.

San Diego Engagement Photographer // Melissa + Anh

SoCal inhabitants are so blessed with an abundance of beautiful, natural light, lovely outdoor venues, and warm temperatures year-round. As a photographer, I feel like I have shot in a lot of the popular areas that San Diego has to offer. So, imagine my surprise when Melissa + Anh suggested San Diego State University as the backdrop for their engagement shoot. With the beautiful Spanish architecture and diversity of the sprawling campus, why had I never thought of this before?

I’m happy to say that the session was a smashing success… I can’t wait to see more of this beautiful couple at their wedding in August!

Instant Film and the FIND workshop…

I spent three amazing days last week surrounded by film, film aficionados, and film shooters. It was heavenly. I am still trying to find words for such an amazing experience. A huge thank you to Jon and the rest of the attendees. I can’t wait to get my film back from the lab to show you all how I’ve been changed.

In the meantime, Jon just posted this photo on his blog, taken by him on a Polaroid 600 SE, the night before the workshop began. A truer statement has never been made.

San Diego Beach Photographer // Where I assure you I haven’t fallen off the face of the Earth

July is my busiest month this year and I haven’t hardly had time to breathe, much less blog. On top of that, I’ve been shooting a lot of film lately and the turnaround time is a little bit longer than the instant gratification of digital.

Although I love color film best, here are a few b+w film images from a sunny day at Pacific Beach (remember those? Sunny days? I don’t…)
