San Diego Engagement Photographer // Leo Carrillo & Gordon Biersch

You may recognize this couple from a tiny sneak peek a couple weeks ago, but there is so much more to share!

When J + B and I started planning their engagement session, they had two requests.  One, that we go to Leo Carrillo Ranch in March, when the peacocks would be strutting their stuff.  Their second request was to head down to Gordon Biersch Brewery afterward and try and get a few photos in the tank room.  The brewery had featured so prominently in their courtship – and proposal! – that they couldn’t pass up getting a few photos at “their” spot.   I was so stoked that they had already picked out two really creative locations… I couldn’t wait for their session!

J + B…

Thank you for introducing me to Leo Carrillo Ranch.  Thank you for dinner & drinks.  And most of all, thank you so much for your enthusiasm during our session…  here is the slideshow to prove it!  Now that the engagement session is over, I can’t wait for your wedding!

The air up there in the clouds is very pure and fine, bracing and delicious. And why shouldn’t it be? —it is the same the angels breathe.

Happy Easter… from Lester and Me

I have an irrational love for photographing a few objects… bicycles, for one.  I don’t know what it is, but I can spend hours taking photos of their curves, their hardware, and the way the sun reflects off their metallic surface.  Beach cruisers, especially.  Since moving to the beach, I have hundreds of beach cruiser images, all of them unique and special to me in some way.

Eggs are another subject I can easily spend an hour or two photographing.  Maybe I have a thing for curvy objects?  I don’t know…  However, I do know that I love when all the Easter blog posts start hitting my feed reader because of the beautiful egg images I am bound to see.

This Easter, I decided to treat myself to a special treat and splurge on Lester A. Walker.  (If you don’t remember Lester, go here.)  I was so excited to find 4 boxes of TZ Polaroid film in my mailbox, especially since I’ve only ever loaded Lester with 600 speed film.  The color and tones are so different.  I may have just found myself a new Easter tradition…
