San Diego Engagement Photographer // Tricia + Greg

As soon as I found out Tricia + Greg were dating, I knew I wanted to photograph them.  I’d met Tricia a couple years before and had even worked on a couple photography gigs due to her recommendations.  We had lunch a few times and hung out with a some of the same people, but otherwise didn’t cross paths often enough for my liking.  I didn’t know Greg as well, but figured if Tricia was in love with him, he must be something special.  I watched them grow closer over the years and saw this connection form between them that inspired me as a photographer.  When, a couple years later, I found out Greg asked Tricia to marry him, I did a little happy dance for them and crossed my fingers that I would get to spend some time with them in front of the camera.  A little while after that, I got the phone call I’d been hoping for. :)

The day of the engagement session arrived and we weren’t sure if we would be able to pull it off due to threat of rain.  But in the end, instead of rescheduling, we decided to work with it.  We walked all over their neighborhood, the place they’ve called home for the last few years and visited their favorite haunts.  And when it was all over, we’d all created some of my favorite engagement images I’ve ever made.  Here are just a few…

When I put this post together, I ran into a problem.  I had too many images I wanted to show and not enough space to post every one.  I decided to put together a slideshow and emailed Tricia + Greg to get a song recommendation.  As I looked through my own music collection, I picked out a song I thought fit them, just in case they couldn’t decide on one.  When they told me the next day which song they had picked I couldn’t believe it… we had all chosen the same song!

Tricia + Greg…  thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon and our tour of North Park.  Thanks for being good sports and bringing umbrellas, a brilliant red raincoat and the most perfect galoshes.  Thank you for beers and conversation at Toronado.  And most of all, thank you for trusting in my ideas and being open to anything I asked.  You guys worked it!  I cannot wait for your wedding in Portland this July…  enjoy the slideshow!
