I know blogging has been spotty lately (only 3 times last month? Really??!) so I promise to do better from here on out. Truthfully, I think I’ve been in an artistic coma since Christmas, but I think I am finally coming out of it. To prove it, I walked around my neighborhood tonight, camera in hand, and shot just because I wanted to. It felt great and reminded me that I need to shoot for myself more often.
When I moved to the beach, I knew it was a very temporary situation, one to savor and enjoy every moment. In light of that, I’ve tried to take my camera with me on most opportunities, to document the changes in my adopted home. I wanted to see how things changed day to day and have an excuse to people-watch. I have captured amazing pink sunsets and rain-drenched, flooded streets and everything in between. It’s been an exciting time and I am so glad I have these images to look back on. While I intend to share some of my favorites over the next few weeks, today I just wanted to show some of the details… the small things that so many people overlook, but that also make this community so unique.

(For those of you interested in the technical side of things, everything but the gold building was shot on a Canon 5D with the 85mm@ 1.8. The gold building was shot with the 50mm @ 1.8.)
